Martha's Guest House

San Ignacio Town, Cayo

Hotel Description
The moment guests step into the reception area of Martha?s Guest House they get a glimpse into the quality, service and creativity of this extra-ordinary accommodation. The hotel is a feast of color for the eyes with brightly-colored tile work, similar to places in Guatemala and Mexico. Local artwork and coordinated textiles adorn the rooms, which are all uniquely different. The furniture is made from mahogany, wicker and wrought iron. Several verandas and comfortable sitting areas provide an at-home feeling. There is a central refrigerator and coffee maker for those rooms that do not have these items. Rooms vary in size and price from a basic room to the ?First Lady Suite? on the entire upper floor providing spectacular views of San Ignacio Town. All rooms are extremely clean and have private bathrooms with hot water. A restaurant and laundromat are conveniently located on site. Whatever your needs--for sleep, good food or clean clothes--there is a friendly and competent staff to help you.

History & Owners
Behind this extraordinary guest house is an extraordinary person, Martha August. Martha is a person of vision and innovation who continues to improve her business since she opened it in 1992. Her dream is to give her guests the best and keep them coming back. She has an eye for style, design and interior decorating and a knack for finding quality antiques and furniture at estate sales. She is joyful, hospitable and always finds the time to make guests feel welcome. Martha?s family and her qualified staff have followed in her footsteps and together, everyone gives this hotel a friendly atmosphere.
