Hotel Description
Located close to the river at the edge of town is this two-acre property with two rooms for rent and a large grassy area for camping. There is a shared bath and shower, outdoor fire hearth and outdoor sitting area. The owner teaches agricultural education and has loaded the property with plants and trees such as cassava, cocoa, golden plum, mango and cashew, just to name a few. The presence of the fruit trees also attracts numerous birds, iguanas, squirrels and armadillos to the property. The accommodations are simple, basic, clean and adequate.

History & Owners
"Mana-Kai" is Polynesian meaning ?before the eyes." Mr. Quiroz, the owner, liked the name and kept it. He is excited about his property and is starting slowly offering simple accommodations for backpackers and campers. He teaches agricultural education at a local high school. The owner enjoys entertaining folks and desires to ?make them feel d?love of Belize.?

Mana Kai Camping & Cabana is located less than a 5-minute walk from the center of town. From the Hawkesworth Bridge, travel down Burns Avenue (which is one way) to the 5-point intersection and turn right onto Hudson Street. Pass by the taxi area, the bus area and market. Follow the road approximately ? mile. The property is located on the right side of the road, across from the soccer field (behind the cement wall on the left) and next to the low water bridge. Stop at the house in front and they will direct you to where you can get in touch with the manager.
