Jungle Jeanie By The Sea

Hopkins Village, Stann Creek

Hotel Description
Jungle Jeanie's is a place where you can enjoy beachfront accommodations in a natural, jungle setting. With a love for nature, the owners have created unique eco-style cabanas using natural materials set in a natural setting. You might have driftwood converted to a towel rack, palm leaves woven into part of a door or a table made from a giant tree. There are trails through the bush on the property where you can see many species of birds. Enjoy a beachside volleyball area, boccee ball, and a beachside fire pit to cook up the catch of the day. There are a few different options for lodging depending on your budget. All have fans and refrigerators. Whether you want to relax in the hammock, lie on the beach, or dive into activities in the surrounding area, you will be comfortable and at home in this tranquil, picturesque setting.

History & Owners
John and Jeanie have lived in Belize for many years after they moved from Canada. After living in Belize City for a few years, they eventually moved to Hopkins where they opened the hotel in the village. Two years ago they moved to the south end of the village to a quiet spot on almost 2 acres of land. They knew they wanted "Jungle" in the name of the property and so it became Jungle Jeanie's. She now has stories of how this name has stuck and she is referred to as 'Jungle Jeannie' throughout the village. Jeanie loves to jog, swim and windsurf. John enjoys cooking and is always coming up with new ideas to use local ingredients in his dishes.
