Jaguar Morning Star Guest House

Caye Caulker

Hotel Description
Many island visitors search high and low for the ?perfect? beachfront or lagoon side accommodation where they can be near the water and see the sunrises or sunsets. What many do not realize is that they might be passing up the best of both worlds without even knowing it! Jaguar Morning Star, located in the exact middle of the Caye is tall enough that guests can see both sides of the island, enjoy a constant breeze and view the rising and setting sun. The accommodation has three separate units: two rooms on the third floor of the main house and one cabana. All rooms are large, extremely clean and tastefully decorated. There is a coffee pot and refrigerator in each room and extra conveniences on site like bike rentals, water refills and fresh juice for sale. There is a large mural on the side of the building depicting a rainforest scene. The hotel is located on a large lot with tropical flowering and fruit trees--banana, lime, almond, date, guava, golden plum and coconut, just to name a few.

History & Owners
Mr. Allison Wright, also known as ?Jaguar? and Joanne moved back to Belize after several years in Alberta, Canada. They opened the Guest House in 2001. The name for the property came when Jaguar was sleeping on a sailing boat and he watched the morning star rise. Together with his nickname, they coined ?Jaguar Morning Star? for the name. Jaguar makes hardwood furniture and trinket boxes from various exotic woods. They both enjoy gardening and making their garden one of the nicest on the Caye.
